BREAKING: 'We will not attend emergency meeting with Oshiomole in Abuja'- Edo APC Chairman

The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) is far from being resolved as the Edo state chapter of the party has reportedly rejected an emergency meeting convened by the APC national vice chairman, South-South, Hilliard Eta.

Premium Times reports that the meeting was scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 28, in Abuja.

Reports gathered stated that 73 persons were invited for the meeting, including APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, and the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki.

However, the chairman of the APC chapter in Edo state, Anselm Ojezua, said the chapter would not attend the Abuja meeting.

APC replies Zamfara gov on banditry allegation, says Yari never supported insecurity Ojezua said party leaders in the zone were not consulted before the meeting was scheduled and also claimed that the venue of the meeting is Oshiomhole’s private office.

The state party chairman added that the meeting was convened with the purpose of passing a vote of confidence on Oshiomhole. Ojezua called on APC members in the state not to attend the meeting, adding that a proper meeting of the region will be convened soon.

The Edo state chapter has been embroiled in the intra-party crisis since the last general elections.

Recently, The NATION reported that Oshiomhole was suspended by the Edo APC. Oshiomhole was said to have received a vote of no confidence from the party following the alleged roles he was said to have played in the crisis rocking the APC in Edo.
