A magistrate court sitting in Babura on Wednesday remanded a 35-year-old man, Chairman Dandanja of Lugan village in Babura local government area of Jigawa State for allegedly raping his friend’s wife.
The prosecutor told the court that the accused person took advantage of his relationship with the victim’s husband, Usman Adamu and visited the house when he was absent and forcefully had carnal knowledge of his wife.
He alleged that the accused threatened the victim with a knife and closed her mouth after he had called her to receive a message for her husband.
The accused, however, denied the allegation when it was read before the court.
He said that the victim demanded for the sex when he visited the house to look for his friend.
The victim also revealed that the accused person is a friend to her husband and used to come to the house day and night to look for her husband and have a discussion and some times even give gifts to her children.
“on that day when he came, our husband was not around. He then asked me to come and receive a message for our husband,” she stated.
“He then grabbed my hand and closed my mouth and threatened me with a knife and forcefully achieved what he intended to achieve.
“When my husband came back, I then informed him what had happened. He then reported the case to court”.
