Chelsea have reportedly placed €35m price tag on the head of Jorginho amid speculation linking him with a move to be reunited with Maurizio Sarri at Juventus.
The Italy midfielder has been linked with the Turin giants and earlier this month it’s believed representatives of the player were in discussions with Juventus about a €40million deal to take him back to the Serie A.
The National reported that the chance of the midfielder and Sarri pairing up at a third club was on the cards, while the Guardian claimed the Italian could be involved in a swap deal which would see Miralem Pjanic move in the opposite direction.
Now it’s reported by the Corriere dello Sport via Calciomercato that Chelsea will sell Jorginho for €35million and have named Juventus as suitors.
Last week the player’s agent Joao Santos did little to quell the speculation.
“I don’t know whether Juve want Jorginho or not, as he has three years left on his Chelsea contract. We’ll see…” Santos told Tuttomercatoweb.
“He is a professional, so if an important club in Italy calls, then why not?”
Jorginho moved to Chelsea in the summer of 2018 as former Blues boss Sarri’s first signing, marking the second club at which the pair have worked together.
The Italy international played all but one of Chelsea’s Premier League games last term and featured heavily in the run to Europa League glory, but he was often the scapegoat ahead of Sarri’s departure after just one season.
He has though improved under Frank Lampard and ESPN recently claimed that Jorginho and N’Golo Kante were two players Lampard would not sell this summer.
However, the breakthrough of Billy Gilmour may well have changed Lampard’s thinking surrounding 28-year-old Jorginho and he may be looking to bank €35m to invest in another area of the squad.
