An Administrative Staff at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, who tested positive for the coronavirus last week, has been discharged from the Ikenne Isolation Centre.
The Naija Weekly reported last week that two workers of the FMC Abeokuta, a nurse and an administrative staff, tested positive for coronavirus.
In a statement released by the hospital’s spokesperson, Segun Orisajo, on Wednesday, the administrative staff was said to have tested negative twice.
Orisajo said that “as at this period, the results of the samples of the nurse are also being awaited; the nurse is in high spirits.”
There was wild jubilation among staff of the FMC Abeokuta as the news of the discharge of the admin staff filtered in, TheNaijaWeekyl learnt.
Reacting, the Medical Director, Prof Adewale Musa-Olomu described the news as cheery.
“This is cheery news to me. This is an answer to our prayers. I am very optimistic that the remaining staff over there will soon be discharged,” the Medical Director said.
