Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki’s movement looking to strike out the names of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and the All Progressives Party (APC) from the appeal recorded by the Action Democratic Party (ADP) has endured a misfortune at the Edo State Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Benin City.
In addition, report has it that, the council likewise declined to strike out ADP’s appeal against Governor Obaseki, demanding it would hear it on its legitimacy as against the solicitation of the lead representative.
The request of the ADP and its governorship competitor got by Igbere TV, on Tuesday, is with reference number: EPT/ED/GOV/01/2020, with INEC, PDP, Obaseki, APC and its governorship up-and-comer, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, as respondents.
The gathering asked the court to preclude Obaseki over his dubious first degree testament from the University of Ibadan (UI) and invalidate the votes cast for him, along these lines requesting INEC to direct a new political decision including any remaining qualified governorship up-and-comers, barring PDP and Obaseki.
The council had in a short decision earlier today declined Governor Obaseki’s solicitation for the situation provoking the capabilities of the lead representative to challenge the September 19thgovernorship political race in the state.
At the continued hearing in the request N0. EPT/ED/GOV/01/2020, Action Democratic Party and Anor v. Free National Electoral Commission and Ors, the court controlled on two separate movements recorded by INEC and PDP, trying to strike the appeal of ADP against Governor Obaseki and strike out the names of APC and its up-and-comer, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu individually.
Disappointingly, the court dismissed their movements and wouldn’t strike out the request and the names of APC and Ize-Iyamu
